Red Rising Series by Pierce Brown

The Iron Gold Tetralogy (follow up to Red Rising) by Pierce Brown

(I’ve heard Pierce Brown describe the first book in his epic mutli-book space opera as being a Trojan Horse that allowed him to get a book deal under the guise of YA that would ulitmately pave the way for a much more complex, adult drama. Push through the YA tone of the first book and the pay off increases with each subsequent book. Small warning that this series is extremely violent. However, its themes of peasant uprising and rebellion feel….very timely right now.)

Kushiel’s Dart by Jacqueline Carey

(Very HOT. Some of the best world building I’ve ever read in fantasy)
